Another cloudy, cool day. I was really looking forward to some sun and warmth. But the good news is, my morning glory seeds are coming up!!! I am so excited. Don't know why I love them so much. They just seem to say good morning, have a nice day! I tried to make the best of the day with a trip to Lowe's. I picked out the fencing to go around the garden. Hubby will go back to get it. I also got some clematis bulbs at 1/2 price. Don't know how they will do at this point but i'm going to try. Just didn't want to pay full price for the plants until I at least tried this. I will probably go back and get the plants though b/c I love these vines! I so miss the beautiful clematis I had at my old house.
With the ever increasing concrete jungle growth around here, they are wiping out all kinds of old homesites. They have built a new mall and lot's more in the works. I stopped and dug a bunch of plants that were going to be bulldozed. I got Iris, daffodils, snowdrops, and desperately tried to get a beautiful camellia bush, but the roots were just too deep! There are about 5 over there and they are huge and gorgeous! I just don't think I have what it would take to get them up. I hope hubby and i didn't kill the little thing we were trying to save. It's kind of sad to think that someone lovingly planted all that and had it for so many years and now it will be gone in a flash. Well, happy gardening and pray for sun!! T.

Go back if you can and get some cuttings, try to root them. I too hate that urban sprawl that takes out many lifetimes of someones life. Linda B |

I love morning glories,too. I have some seeds and havent started them yet! I gotta get on it! |

I think I will go out there and get cuttings before they are totally done away with. Thanks! And I'm planting more morning glory seeds tomorrow. |

It is sad that someone has worked that hard and no one cares. I have volunteers from my morning glory last year. Now the trick will be to get it to vine up the pole and not pool on the ground like it did last year. It just wouldn't vine. I have some more seeds that I need to plant there as well because I don't know what the volunteers will look like. |

Say, I have a clematis vine, my daughter gave it to me one mothers day. I have been moving it around, trying to make it grow bigger, but it just makes one bloom and then looks sick.Do you know any tricks? My place if umbrelled with huge oak trees, so I gave it a little more sunshine this time.I have a whole field of morning glory.All colors.A striped purple and white are my favorite.Good for you, plant rescue is something I enjoy as well! |

Morning glories are favorite of mine too! Did you plant a specific color or a variety? They are such happy flowers~you can't help but love them. |

Got all my seeds m. glory seeds planted today...heavenly blue (probably my favorite),some striped ones and also a mixture of colors. |
