While we were expecting the worst in terms of worms devouring our pumpkin we did not see this coming. Our pumpkin EXPLODED over night!!!! I went to check on it this morning and found our dear pumpkin cracked open. Who knew this was even possible. After looking online, I found that this does happen occasionally. Most likely weather related, over-watering or over-fertilizing...... who knows.
I can't believe it wasn't the worms that ended up killing it.
I guess there's always next year..... sigh......

Thanks for the sympathies. I will try again next year! Too bad I have to wait so long. PS: I have images of the cracked pumpkin in one of my photo albums. |
