Aug 19, 2012 | 3:33 AM PST now thats a bad word. The cat was "Frontlined" when he came on board. Since we didnt have any animals the last 8 years,we havent had to deal with this. Now we do. The Frontline didnt work, and I wont do that again anyways. Its too chancy with their nervous system. The fleas were just waiting for the summer heat to make their fabulous debut. Yesterday, before I opened the sale, we got a good workout. The cat had his 2nd "Dawn Bath, good water-vinegar rinse, but I didnt have a flea comb on board. I will get one today. Let me just say, cats do not like a bath. But this has to be done-as I dont want it to get worse. We removed all the rugs, and the living room carpet went to the dump. That wasnt a big deal, as it was just a temporary carpet as we do the construction on the house. I'll go back to a braided rug now. All the rugs were hung out on the line,and/or laid out up on the low roofs, and doused with a good round of salt. They can all stay out there for a few days. Hubby vaccumed the upstairs while I did the downstairs. All furniture vac-ed off, cushions outside- the salt spread everywhere. Crunch-crunch under the feet. Well, at least I'm still his friend,he's still purring and coming to me after that episode. Today I will crush some Rosemary up, and rub it into his furr. Have a dish of soapy water with a light next to it in the living room, and one in hubbys office. Only caught 2 last night-which was better than the night before of 20. Been doing that for 2 weeks now. Will set 2 more up upstairs, and put the store traps on my list to acquire this week, and keep doing it till I see no more fleas. Those have sticky pads and work real good too, I used one many years ago. Started putting a sprinkle of Brewers yeast on his food, but since I started doing that,he's not eating as much as normal. I'm wondering if I should change his dry food, and what is a more healthy one. He's eating "The Good Life" series from Walmart. Well,we certainly got a good workout,as the humidity climbed. Then after we dealt with that I opened the sale. An ok day,and hubby worked on the deck project. Picked another quart of berries last night, after the swarm of Dragon Flies calmed down a bit. They come at 5 pm every nite. Probaly since I dont have enough bats-they take care of the mosquito population. Picked more cukes, and found 3 more Tomato Hornworms, only in the front bed thank god. Yuck, and hubby was even more disgusted than me,holding the bag while I got them off the plant. The 3 of them did just as much damage to the plants stems as the japs do. They are hungary eaters and shirred them right off. I caught them just in time though. And I have the best tomato plants I've ever had this year, hubby says thats why I got them, apparently they think so too. Well,we were both pooped by the end of the day thats for sure. A sunny day upon us,along with lifes usual happenings..

You have my sympathy, my friend. Fleas are horrible little creatures. I used to have real problems till I began treating my animals with Advantage.
