Aug 2, 2012 | 3:04 AM PST from my daughter that she was coming home, that her Dad had passed away. Way too young at 63. Served in VietNam,exposed to Agent Orange, and finally approved a very short time before his death for 100% disability. Many rounds of cancer, unable to beat it,now he can rest in peace. She'll bring him back to Maine where he'll be laid to rest in the city where he grew up and loved. She is heartbroken, but among the many items he left her, were many pictures that people took of the two of them together over the years-and especially when she was young, which she doesnt remember. So that is special. My next trip to the store,I'll pick her up a photo album. I had gotton her call when my Cherry-blueberry pie was in the oven,so it went a little over on the time for the crust, but not burnt, but still good.An easy recipe,so I'll make another. Up to 58 quarts now, ready to go pick another this morning. Picked another 4 cukes yesterday, and gave her aunt 2 quarts and 4 cukes to take back, which they love both. Very cloudy today- rain is in store which is fine with me. Took Landon to Waterville to go pick her up, and gave him some needed time in the MacDonalds playground to get rid of some of that pent up energy. Looks like only time enough for berry picking before the rain starts,so I better get going...
