When I went out to the garden this morning, I saw a half-eaten Roma tomato just outside the fence. I was wondering "who dunnit?!" when I saw a squirrel high tail it around the house. Later, when I went out to mow the lawn, I saw him again. I haven't had a problem (that I know of) in the past. Maybe they've been eating my vegetables all along and I just never saw the evidence. Smart little guys. I read the section on the GG site "Keeping chipmunks and squirrels at bay". I'll try some of their suggestions.

fairygarden	Jul 12, 2008 \| 2:58 PM PST They are smart little guys. We keep sunflower seeds in a bucket with a screw on top. They cant unscrew it, but they have gnawed it almost to death.

dandavis1960	Jul 14, 2008 \| 6:12 AM PST I installed two "Molemover" devices that I bought at Lowes. They are electronic rodent repellers that makes a "chattering" noise and a buzz every 28 seconds. They are installed in the ground. I also put a bunch of moth balls out there and it smells like granny's closet. We'll see if these ideas work to keep the squirrels out.
dandavis1960	Jul 16, 2008 \| 4:55 PM PST After putting out the moth balls and the electronic rodent repellers I saw an increase in activity. The instructions on the box said that would probably happen. The squirrel has gone on a rampage eating my tomatoes and ruining a lot of my lettuce. They said it would probably stop after a couple of weeks. I hope I still have something left by then.
