I live in Las Cruces, NM (a desert city close to the Mexican border). Our soil is very sandy and water is an issue. I garden in raised beds using a drip system. I enjoy growing tomatoes, chiles, cilantro and other vegetables and herbs. I've had some very good results.
My wife and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and our kids just turned 21 and 18. Big milestones! We both work in the school system and are happy to have a little time to ourselves in the summer.
We have two beautiful German Shepherd dogs who we consider to be part of the family. They are just like kids and make wonderful companions.
I am a University of Florida graduate (as well as Arizona State and University of New Mexico) and my wife is a graduate of Peabody (Vanderbilt) and New Mexico State University. At heart, she is an Ohio State Buckeye though.

lemon basil
I grew lemon basil for the first time in my garden. It's done great! Now I need to know how to use it? Anyone experienced with lemon basil?
