About cottagegardener

Hi My name is Karen aka cottagegardener. It's great to have found this site and I am already feeling at home here. Who wouldn't feel at home in a garden- online or off? :) I have been married to a wonderful man named Chris for 33 years now and we have 5 grown children, 4 boys and 1 daughter. We also have 3 grand daughters and a 21 year old chow mix named Jubilee.

I learned to garden at my dad's knee and my gardening is my therapy for just about everything! I love to grow all sorts of perennials, roses and annuals. I not only garden, but I love to embroider and I do crafts as well. Let's not forget the computer! I do photo restoration and I am an avid Paint Shop Pro user. I make scrolling, musical and animated stationery for Outlook Express and Windows mail users. I also make signature tags and small animated .gifs as well.

The goal of my garden is to bring joy to the little children, (all children should have flowers) healing and serenity to friends, family and visitors and a sense of home to me and my husband.  Now that I have a digital camera, I can actually take some nice pictures and post them! I hope to meet you all and learn all about you and your gardens. See you soon! - Karen

The Raspberry Jungle
You've all heard of that horrifying place called the "Concrete Jungle" haven't you? It's a place I call home for all those urban cave dwellers. I couldn't imagine going to one of those places to live. Just looking up at one of these tall cliff like c...

Tackling A Tough Job
Hi all! I haven't got much gardening news this week. I've been busy with the family. We didn't get to celebrate on the 4th because of work schedules etc. It really irritates me that businesses no longer shut down to celebrate holidays. Especially maj...

A slow gardening week
This past Saturday night I took a nasty fall in my office. (Redzey already knows because she's on Facebook) Because of my knees being the way they are, I can't get up without help. I had fallen so hard that I skinned my knees on the carpet, jammed bo...
