Hello there everyone...

Well just wanted to take a moment and let everyone get to know me a little better. I LOVE plants and all that it means. My son used to tell me that we were going to have to move out cause plants were taking over. Well now that he has his own house he has 5 ponytail palms { it seems to be all that he and his wife can keep alive lol} . I have tried to do "structured " flower beds you know pretty ones like magazines but my problem is that if I see it, it's pretty or different, I buy and plant somewhere. I have shade, sun , annual and per. beds and that's about as narrowed down as I can go. I like them all and want them all. My passion is probably vines and ferns though. Yesterday I found out that the unknown vine I bought last fall for $ 20.00 is actually coming back. That was a lot of money for a shot in the dark end of the season buy but it has beautiful flowers. After much research I think it's a Sky Flower. Never saw one before and had to have it. Anyway all I can say is I love gardening and sharing with others about flowers and such..... Looking forward to getting to know folks here and can talk about what we all love ... Later Carol

Thank you Carol and welcome to Garden Guides. I have the same passion to buy every new plant that I see and my garden isn't structured but a great hodge podge of beauty and satisfaction. Just make your garden for you. Let it be your fun and enjoyment, not the judges that are lurking around every corner in life. Glad to see that you are a good member, one of us. structured gardening???? how do you do that i am a rescuer i like to go to the garden centers and get the plants that they plan to or have thrown away so half the plants i have i dont even know what they are i love plant and flowers so much i hate to see them tossed out. i hope some of the plants will cme back this year so that i may find out what they are called nice to post with you..... amber |

Hi. I know what you mean about wanting it if it's pretty or different. I love where I live but it is pretty limited in what I can grow here. I tend to go for color. I didn't even realize it till people commented on how all my flowers are blue, pink or purple. I looked around and thought, yeah, those are the colors I love. I fixed my yard up last summer for an outdoor wedding for my best friend. At the last minute it rained so we had to move everything to the church. I had planted flowers that would be blooming during the wedding and I used her favorite colors, yellows, reds and oranges. She loved it. I kinda shrugged and thought,the flowers are pretty but as a whole....not my thing. Nice to have you here. Alanna |

Ok don't even get me started on rescuing plants from garden centers...that is where I work...all day 40 hrs a week. Yes I had to set myself a limit and now they ask...Carol do you have this one yet??? Hoping to be the nursery specialist one of these days and that will really get me in trouble...lol |

Welcome to GG! We share a lot in common. I live in Texas also. I can see from your pic's that we have the same plans for rocks... I bring rock home to hug my trees. My hubby and I bought this home last year. We almost bought a house in Granbury. I love it there but Hubby has to go to Dallas VA Hospital for medical needs. We're just not getting any younger so Fort Worth is where we stayed. So glad to have you on my friends list. I'll send you a message about the other things we share in common..lol |
