Tag: stain my deck
Well, I have spent the last two days staining our deck a Light redwood. We picked Cabot for the brand as we had had several people recommend it.. time will tell how it weathers!! The stain went on nicely and even though we power washed the deck, it turned out really well. Have to go buy the 3rd gallon to finish up, but it is looking good!! The guy at the store told us that people really should reseal their decks and wood surfaces every 3-4 years no matter how long the stain is supposed to last. Once you get the color on, just use clear to keep it and then you can use a roller instead of a paint brush. I am not sure how large the deck is, but we did count, 80 spindles!! Will be looking for a sale on Christmas lights and buy the rope kind. We had them on our deck for lighting and they lasted about 5 years and it really worked well, coming on every day at the same time, due to help from a timer.
Just the right amount of light and looks nice in the back.
