Still no rain :(

Central Illinois still has had no rain and things are really showing signs of stress, even some weeds are getting wilty!! My rudbekia is slowing down and so are the daylily blooms, but I am all excited about my first water lily blooms!! They are a pale yellow white color and really look so pretty. We have had the water lily for about 3 summers now, we winter it over in a small water feature about 90 gallons.
I really need to find things that will bloom early August and into Sep.. any suggestions would be welcome!

chatty, I've got mums and sedum to hold the fort until the first frost, both came back and are doing well despite this drought. The mums are yellow and dark red, with the Autumn Joy sedum inbetween. This will be the first year for the mums to bloom, so I'll get pics (of course!) when they do. :) |
