I'm a retired professional administrative assistant.   I have been married for 32 years to the same man.  Our new love has been kayaking and traveling to kayaking places.  Not sea kayaking, but any fairly smooth water we can find.  My passion has always been gardening, I think since I was very little.  We were always digging in the dirt.  I've always had a flower and vegetable garden almost everywhere we have lived.  Watching things grow before your eyes is spectacular!   We have just opened up a family business.  It's called Celebration Gardens, a garden events venue for weddings, receptions, anniversaries, birthday parties, quinceaneras, reunions and even memorial services.  We live in a rural town, with the closest large city being at least 30 miles away, and we have many churches with some halls or community rooms and even a casino about 5 miles away but very expensive.  We figured we have been having family weddings and parties of all kinds here since 1980's, why not open it up to everyone.  This has put a new fire underneath us and here it's only January and we are out doing as much gardening as we can!  We already have 1 wedding, scheduled for June 21st!   If we only do a couple this summer, we are fine with that.  We are just going by word of mouth and through our local Chamber of Commerce.  Life is GRAND!!  I'm working on a web page, will keep you posted when I publish it!

Pruning Roses
Wow, just finished 3 days of pruning most of the roses -at least the ones in the garden, still have to prune the 4 in the front of the house.   I really need to go to one of those rose pruning classes that some of the nurseries have.  Just have never...
