The lilacs smell heavenly!

The smell of lilacs is certainly among if not my favorite smell. There are Miss Kim lilac bushes planted outside the windows. These lilacs come on after the regular ones and they are so fragrant. My home smells just lovely. Visitors to my home these days seem to all remark on them, even my UPS delivery person was not immune to remark on their lovely smell.
It is raining and more rain is forecast for tomorrow so I fear it may bring an end as I see so many of the delicate petals are now on the ground. I guess perhaps it is partly because they do not last so long that they become so precious and appreciated.

When I lived in Michigan and in subsequent visits, the lilacs were blooming every where. The fragrance was always the most enjoyable part of driving in late spring and early summer. We don't seem to have that down here in Kentucky. You have a great day and happy gardening. Bill Mitchell |
