Think Ive got Virginia DayFlowers (Commelina erecta)
Apr 24, 2008 | 6:33 AM PST
about a month ago, I took notice to this blue flowers everywhere, i think they were there last year, but i passed them off as weeds, maybe the flowers weren't in bloom they are sort of aggrivating to the rest of the garden because they are not neat, the leaves are huge long, thick, corn husky looking and they slump, they just grew from the ground all over another plant that was spaced and neatly planted. I had the yard man mow them all away in the front, because they were growing outside of the garden perimeters, and busting through the weed screen, but there is still a huge bush of them on the side of the house against the dividing fence. I want to know so bad what they are, the color is wonderful but those things spread everywhere the flower is on a long skinny stem and small. i did some online searching, I think they are Virginia Dayflowers. if anyone has flowers in this family could they post them so i can try and pick my flowers out in a line up until i can get pictures of them.
