About Tam-Tam
I'm a Kentucky native, I'm in my Forties and I am a homebody. Among other health issues, I have an allergic reaction to sunshine, so I have to be careful. Sometimes I dart out for a few minutes to do yard work and then dart back in the house again. It wouldn't be to bad if we had some really good shade, but the only shade we have is manmade. Of course, then I wouldn't have enough sunny space to plant I guess. But I refuse to give up because I have waited so long to have a little patch of soil to, as my Mom would have put it, "to tinker around with". My folks died when I was young and I find myself thinking about my Mom's climbing roses and her common sense approach to gardening. Mom used a lot of pass-a-along plants until she had to stop tinkering around in the yard. She had the green thumb, and I have...maybe a green pinkie if I'm lucky. :) If I only knew then what I know now, but I was just a little girl.
I have read a lot of gardening books and magazines and I still find that just talking to folks that "have that plant" in their garden gives me the best insight. So I'm hoping to learn more about gardening and to make new friends here, since I don't go out much. Sometimes it takes me a while to get things done, because I have some good days and bad days. These days I do my best to take care of my hubby, my teenager, my nephew, and our four little dogs and one persnickety cat.
Happy Gardening To All...
