Plants in my Garden: Bee Balm, Trumpet Creeper
Favorite Aspect of Gardening: When I plant something and after a week it's still alive and flourishing...life is good!
If I'm not in my garden, I can usually be found: Watching our Hummingbirds, studying for school, or pouring myself a cup of Folger's coffee and deciding between 4 Coffee-Mate creamers...Pralines and Cream, Toffee Nut, Peppermint Mocha and Ameretto...cheers!

About SusanLouise
I am originally from Branford, Connecticut...lived there for 40 years before getting married and moving to the heartland. It was a long distance relationship...and one of us had to move. I drew the short straw...LOL
I tease my DH about it, but very happily married! We don't have any children.
I have had 3 major surgeries in the past 4 years...lung cancer surgery in 2004, a hysterectomy in 2005 and a bladder operation in 2006. Last year no operation...Woohoo!
My DH and I became hummingbird lovers last Spring...and totally by accident. I usually kept Moss Roses in our porch planters, due to the fact that our house is on a small hill and the front of the house faces south. When the winds blow here...they blow! I had used/tried many flowers in our planters...but the only ones that seemed to survive were the Moss Roses. Well, after 6 years of those...I needed a change...so I got some Petunias. Within a week we had 4 regular female hummers from late Spring through to migration. Oct 6th our last hummer left. We also had 9 passing through during that time when they were heading south...like we were their "Motel 8" on their journey south...LOL Oh, can't wait for the little cuties to return...going through major withdrawls!!! As it gets closer to April, you'll find me on the Hummingbird forum the most. I'm in the process of developing a Hummingbird Habitat for them...Oh, what fun!
Just a few more bits of info...I'm 49 and currently a homemaker and a college student. this quarter I'm taking "Calculus and Analitic Geometry"...Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...not...
LOL
My list of plants for the hummers is short...just put those in last fall before the frost. I'll be adding Butterfly Bushes, Salvias, Honeysuckles...and many others...just haven't narrowed down the list yet...a work in progress...
I'll add more tomorrow :)
