I feel like this weekend was a productive one. I finally got out there and moved all my hostas. They each had several babies. I was such a proud mama! I dug a trench at the top of my driveway apx 15 feet long and spread them all out nicely. My kids had fun helping me dig. My son is my official "rock mover". Whenever I hit rock digging he will dig it out the rest of the way with his hand shovel. He feels like he is really helping out and I get a chance to catch my breath for a moment. I hope to have a row of hosta going along the whole driveway someday just by spreading my own out every year. I have a 200 foot long drive so it will probably take a while but I don't mind the wait.
I also did a little fertilizing with all my coffee grounds I had been reserving. My husband suggested I also throw the bucket of dead minnows he and my son had left from a fishing trip in there. I wasn't too sure about that. I posted a question about that in the fertilizer thread. Maybe I will get some responses.
I planted my angel trumpet too. The poor dear was so root bound in it's pot it was crying out to me for help! I'm going to get some pine needles from a neighbor up the road tomorrow and I will be sure to give everything a good layer of mulch.

You did have a productive weekend, it feels so good to stand back and survey after all that hard work. WoW-200 feet of hostas will be lovely, it will happen in the blink of an eye. I may venture out and plant one of my brugmansias-you have inspired me. Enjoy your children in the garden, they grow faster than any plant!~Andrea

I love hostas but dont have quite enough shade to grow many. I use to have some of the big blueish colored ones. Do take some pix and show us what they look like.
