I know that most of you that live where it snows are probably going to have a good chuckle at this, being that I am in Florida and all... but I had to bring all my plants in the house last night b/c we had record lows for the month of April yesterday, I think it went down to the low 40's... For me thats pretty stinkin cold! Any how I was not going to take a chance in ruining any of my baby plants that are just getting started or my plants that live inside during the winter season... I don't know if my wild flowers made it or not.... : ( Jacksonville is one of the major citties in Fl that can get really cold, this past winter we had a few weeks where it was down in the mid 20's to mid 30's and that is pretty cold for us Floridians! It did Snow here in 1989.... I was 4 years old, and that was the only time I have ever saw or played with snow.... With the exception of my trip to Alaska (I have never been so cold), but the snow was so far away and mostly on glaciers... ANYHOW - I am ready for spring to come here to stay.. I know I should not wish for alllll the cool weather to go away too fast b/c come in a month or two it will be HOT HOT HOT! Here is Jacksonville's seasons take place every year- First 1/4 of the year COLD, 3/4 of the year HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I'm sure some of our Midwesterners and New Englanders will get a major chuckle out of your idea of "cold", SimpleSara. Your comments reminded me of growing up in New Orleans. It snowed there one time too - when I was about ten years old. I remember we used to turn our outside faucets to drip drip drip all night long when a "freeze" was threatened. Only, we didn't call them faucets. We called them "hydrants". Don't ask me why. |

Me, my sister and brother did that too when a hard freeze was on the forcast. I remember we got busted for running my dads sprinklers one night!!! But after we were instruted to not do that again... my parents had to admit that the frozen wonderland they woke up to was pretty cool : ) Then they got the water bill... Ooooppps! Needless to say, we didn't do that again:) |

We are suppose to have some chilly weather, too. We never turn on the outside faucets for cold weather, but we always leave water dripping inside. |

Yep, that's about what we have. It goes from cold to hot. Not much in between. |

we had a freeze warning last night and tonight too. you can bet my plants are covered with the old bed sheets :) |

Yes we southern people do not like to be cold or have cold on our plants. I am really, really ready to put my babies in the pots and the gardens. LB |
