Well,folks, I lost a laying hen to neighbors pitbull again.So we have another court date.I'm going tell the judge that dog needs to be destroyed before it attacks me.He's been fined again,both his dogs were involved this time.
I ran over a piece of chicken wire in the field,it's wrapped around the driveshaft.in my truck.So now soninlaw & son are going try & remove it.Son has a bad habit of throwing wire down & his tools.So can't take trash off. I have a stationwagon given to me by my dau.,a suberu,drives good & it has air.Is 5 speed so will be great on gas.
Best Buy still hasn't fixed our putor.They ordered parts again.After this time,they will give us a new one.This one we're using is old & slow.
My dau.has eye problems,she's going blind in one eye,so that's another stress on me.But with our Lord's help We.re get through it.So that's how my week has gone,hope ya'lls was better. Have a blessed weekend,take care,Diane

Busy day yesterday.Best Buy came. the motherboard & power box thingy didn't work, so he had to order again.Clemson called, I don't have a contagious disease in my flocks.The chickens that died were sick when they came here, ones of mine that died got near them,got stressed & died. So the treatment is to keep Terramycin in the water for a week.That should stop any more outbreaks.I'm so thankful, just the thought of destroying my flocks gave me the chills.My girls are so tame, they follow me everywhere,eat from my hands.The turkeys are just oversize babies.Potbelly is gaining weight,Mabel eats from my hand now.
We signed up for Hughes.net internet service,fast speed.Took the poor man all afternoon to install.Had to put a pole up as I have too many trees.I love it.He checked out the hogs, said great day,those are huge.
Soon as my putor is back up I'll post pictures of my moon plant.It is so pretty.And Dave's star hisbucus.Wow is the best way to describe it.Ya'll have a very blessed day,Diane

My putor crashed.Best buy won't be out till Thurs.But I borrowed an extra one my dau.Criss has.Been hit with a disease killing my chickens.An agent from Cllemson came out & did throat cultures.We'll get the results wed.Meantime I got to treat their water with an antibotic.
The plan today is to go get Criss & teach Dave how to use his putor. I have to get a picture of his star hibiscus.It's beautiful. Ya'll have a blessed day, take care, Diane

Morning Ya'll. We finally got that potbelly pig,Mabel. She'll do anything for a honey bun.So she was no trouble getting into the trailer,then her pen.She's settle in her new pen, has neighbors, my son's pigs.Gets plenty of food now.Lets me stratch her nose.
I picked muscadines yesterday(wild grapes) will make jelly with them.Going up to Dave's today & get more figs.I gave him a jar of the strawberry/fig jam.He whoff that down.Gave him another jar & zuchini bread sunday.
Going to try the recipe using blackberry jello & figs.Taste like blackberry jam.So I'll be busy tomorrow. Filling my jelly shelf full for the winter.my garden is almost finished.

Yesterday Dave & I raided his fig tree.We picked 8 cups. The plan this morn is to make Fig-Strawberry jam.It tastes like strawberry jam,with splenda.And Peach jam with splenda.Still no rain, everything is crying for water. I watered for two hrs.Yesterday. Watch two hummers fight over my Turks Cap.That was cool.Ya'll have a blessed day,Diane

Rascal says it's too hot to chase his women,lol. They have a stand of hickory trees to stay under.Plenty of icewater.Today I'm making fig perserves from Dave's fig tree.Got to water my garden first, then planning on being in my kitchen awhile.Ya'll have a blessed day, stay cool.Diane

I'm staying busy keeping water pans filled with cool water for goats & chickens.I put a block of ice in the goats water trough.Watering everyday my maters. & flowers.Praying for rain.Everyone have a blessed day, stay cool.Diane

Yesterday I visited Dave.Took him a peach cobbler & fried peach pies. Picked his peach tree clean.Picked a bucket of figs.Will make sugar free jam for myself & preserves for him with sugar.I shared with Valinda every year, my sugar free jellies & jams.So I'm watching over her husband for her.It's hard somedays.And I'm still grieving for my grand daughter Ashley that died in Dec. from MSRA.I have a new friend from chuch who heads up a beravedment group.I'm taking my dau. My greatgrandson River had his surgery to repair his GERD problemyesterday. He came through it like a champ. He's fussy, his mom Jill says.Should be able to start eating today.Jill is by herself there.Her husband Ernie had to go back home & work.He'll be there sunday.Jills mama Gina just moved to Arizona with my son.
I went up to Daves, got some of Valinda's clothes & peaches.I told him how bad those "kids" have money problems. He wanted to give money for them.I just fold it & put it in my pocket.Looked @ it when I got home, he gave a huge amount. I nearly fainted myself.Called Gina then call Jill.Jill started crying. This will help them out alot. Ernie's parents are being butts.So I'll send them a cashiers check today.My church is praying hard for that little boy.Soon as he get's home, I'll go visit & take pictures.He's a cute little boy.Jill is a christian & she says through me,one prayer has been answered. All I did is run my mouth & got things started.
Watered fruit trees & flowers last nite.Got to water veggies today.Pick more maters to can again.Today is shopping day,have to go pay a bill,get groceries & feed.Have a pair of baby goats ready to go to their new home.The couple who are buying them are coming out tonite.I hate to see them go but can't keep them all.

Morning ya'll, I had quite a day yesterday.I was canning maters when the lady from the feed store called. She ask if I would let a church bus load of 5 yr.olds come see my farm.So the bus pulls up 5 adults & at least 20 kids.They got to feed my goats bread & carrots.Loved that. Then went around & visisted all the pens. I showed them a necked neck baby chicken.They were all fasicinated by the chick & all the different types of chickens we have.The polish were a big hit with their Tina Turner look.The church group were black.The adults enjoyed the tour as well as the kids.As the kids were loading up, they were calling goats by name,telling them bye.That was so touching.I got such a blessing from it.Went back inside,finished my canning, putting peas up & corn.Made zucchini bread.that was a hit @ my sunday school class gathering.So I'm blessed beyound words.Hope ya'll have a blessed day, happy gardening.Diane

Morning ya'll, This is what I picked yesterday.The plan today is too can the maters & make zucchina bread for my sunday school class gathering this evening plus a strawberry pie.My flowers are fixing to bloom everywhere.The zinna's are finally starting to bloom, that's what I get for buying cheap seeds,lol.My spider plants are fixing to bloom.Pics will follow soon.Got to rake out an area to build a pen for the potbelly.So I've got a busy day, ya'll have a blessed day,happy gardening.Diane

Morning ya'll, busy weekend. Went to Lowes to get a post for goat pen.Had to check out reduced plants. Got a couple of Lantana marked down to 50 cent a pot, a yellow yarrow, a Black Adder Hyssop, which on the tags says it attracts hummers.blooms are purple spikes, plant is in great shape, it looks pretty in my flower garden.
Took a truck load of stuff to my church yard sale.Took my dau.Criss with me, we shopped @ both sites. Got so hot we stop.My son & his friend put up another row of cattle panels up in the goat pen.Yesterday evening, Bobby & I put up another section of panels.One more side to do.That will stop Mr. Rascal from squashing the field wire down & taking his girls for a stroll.This morn, I got to drag the old wire & pile it in a field till we can take it off. Pick more maters to can.Purple hulls need picking again.I'm always doing something.
Next sat afternoon, we're going to get a potbelly pig who is being negelted.She'll be good for kids to pet.Got to build her a pen friday evening.I know, I don't need another animal to feed.The Lord blessed me with this little farm & this is the least I can do is take care of his critters.

Hey ya'll.My greatgrandson,River Smith was rushed to the hospital the other day.He threw up & choke on his vomit. Has been on life supp ort. Has double pneumonia.Now he's breathing on his own & soon as the pneumina is cured, then he will have surgery for his GERD. He's 8 mths old.
I've got enough ripe maters to can again in the morn.Picked yellow squash & shared with my dau.Criss.My son & his friend Tony put cattle panels down two sides on the goat pasture. That will stop Mr.Rascal of smashing down wire & taking his girls for a stroll in the woods,lol.Hope Bobby will finish the other two sides this evening.No dog can bust through that wire.
