About RamblingNana

Hi!

I found this delightful website Summer 2006.  I really enjoyed posting and receiving comments from "the gang."  I got tips that I fully intend to use this coming season.

My husband and I live in a condo, so as you can imagine, my planting is somewhat limited - that doesn't stop my interest in what other gardeners are doing.  Never met a gardener I didn't like.

I had a beautiful flower garden when I had my house.  Many happy hours making everything perfect.  It breaks my heart that I never thought to take photos of it before I moved.  I've only got a couple of fuzzy shots of my back patio.

We will be moving to a larger condo, hopefully Summer 2008 (but don't quote me!).  Can't wait!  It's framed now and the roof is on ... several most frustrating delays already - but at least they've started on it. It was supposed to be ready in November  2007 - but now it's looking like next Summer ... or ... heaven forbid, next Fall!   I'll have a 15' x 25' north-facing patio in the new place.  I'll really have to come up with lots of shade-loving plants to dress up my view.  I'm looking forward to getting lots of tips and suggestions from the forum.

I love taking pictures and more than that, I love sharing them with friends.  Actually, I probably drive most everyone nuts with my photographs.  Over the years I've tinkered with several different hobbies.  I'd be delighted if you'd view the photos I've put on the PHOTOS section on GG.  I truly "was" a gardener, even though I'm reduced to an apartment now ... I'd also enjoy hearing from you and doing a wander through your garden.

If you are interested in how I see the world through my bifocals - click on the word website and you can peek into my world.  I'm a compulsive writer and you may find some of my musings entertaining.

The Gardening begins!
Well, I'm having fun.  That's what it's all about, right?  I've set up the deck chairs at one end of our balcony, and I've got the old kitchen table at the other end so we'll have a spot to eat dinner on warm summer evening.  The hostas, english ivy...

Rain!!! Will it never end? Will Summer never come to stay?

I weakened and headed for the local nursery.
Well, I just couldn't wait any longer.  I had to put something/anything on my bakers' rack to at least try to pretend it's Spring.  I left the light burning above the rack.  I hope it wont be too cold out there on the covered balcony at night.  That...
