Finally Pruned the Lilacs

Today is the first time we've seriously pruned the lilacs since we moved here in 2005.  Some trunks were mostly bare and stretched up to 25 feet.  Paul took a chainsaw to them, and then we judiciously pruned out the rest of the deadwood.  I must say they look a lot better, but now we have a pile of branches at tall as I am.
