I have been busy trying to get the flower beds done , so I can plant my plants ..And wow, the soil is really hard.I have been used to digging in sandy soil in S.Tx. But I will get it done. Have been collecting rocks for my beds,and yard art. And sure glad I have lots to choose from. Well better get on and rest. Got a long day today and have to get back to my flower beds, ..Linda

Batnavel	Apr 29, 2008 \| 6:59 AM PST If your soil is like mine, you have a lot of clay. Some things will grow just fine in that, but you should probably mix in some better dirt for the best success. I am experimenting this year with different soils and organic matter. Good luck!!!

bsmitch	Apr 29, 2008 \| 7:58 AM PST I'm a Kentucky Hillbilly living down here on lake Cumberland and I started gardening with all the worst types of soil and sun exposure. You can see the pictures in my blogs and the success I've had with improving the beds by adding sand, compost, top soil, and a little natural fertilizer.
