About LADYT723
OK, here's a brief intro:
I was born in Queens, New York, the 3rd of 8 children. When I was 5 we moved to Long Island. I currently own the house I grew up in. About 6 yrs ago an "old friend" contacted me via an IM and we have formed a wonderful and deep bond. He lived just blocks from where I grew up but his family moved to South Carolina when he was 15. I would see him around town from time to time when he came to visit his friends and relatives. There was always something about him that intrigued me and we had several "encounters" in our late teens and early 20's. I have been here in SC since April. We have made the decision to live together here, in his home on 4 acres of God's beautiful Earth and grow "young" together. He is my best friend, my companion, my lover. He has 2 grown daughters from his 1st marriage. Together we have 3 dogs and a cat. We both love to garden and spend all our free time at it. I took some horticulture classes (many years ago) which I very much enjoyed and I learned a great deal. I find it hard to believe that I actually knew all the Latin names and the spellings of all the different species of plants! My parents gardened and I learned from them as well. The soil on Long Island is much different than this clay soil here in SC. In NY I just planted and everything grew! All I ever had to do was add Miracle Grow. Here in SC we have to completely prepare the soil, till, add compost etc. The bugs in SC seem to be mutant as they are very resistant and will not go away. I have seen some bugs that look like aliens and it is very creepy. In NY I never had a pest problem so for me it is somewhat annoying having to deal with these creatures. Everyday is an adventure, but that is a good thing! The garden is doing very well and I will be canning and preserving as much as possible. Who knows? We might even get some chickens!
