I am a 43 yr. old woman that lives deep in the South. My husband, myself and our 5 yr. old daughter, Siarra live on an old family farm that was built in 1941 here in South Georgia. We live in the middle of nowhere - or as they say down here, the "sticks" - I have a dirt road that leads up to our front door and across from the house are the "woods". It's always very interesting to sit on the front porch at night and listen to all that is moving around out there. There are many animals that seem to wonder through our yard on a daily basis - deer, raccoons, armadillos, snakes ... it's almost like "Mutual of Omaha" right here in my backyard!! I was born and raised in the Mile High City - Denver, Colorado. I moved to Georgia about 7 yrs. ago after marrying my husband (who was born and raised in the small town that we live in). I enjoy being outside in both my garden and my flower beds. I also have a passion for cooking. So this year I told my husband that I wanted a little garden ....... 3 tractors later that's what I got .... but it was much more than what I had ever planned - about 25 x 100 ft.!! I think my hubby is trying to start a vegatable stand on our dirt road! As the summer comes to a close, as does the garden, we are getting ready to pull up everything and re-plow so that we can try our hand at some Winter crops - Potatoes, Turnip Greens, Collard Greens and some more Pumpkins. All in all life is simply, but GOOD living down here in the country.
