Just because I live in a busy neighborhood doesn't mean "critters" can't find your garden. I had a beautiful crop of Sweet corn before 'it" go into my garden and dug up half the corn. I am not sure if it's a racoon or possum, but I worked hard the other night and built a fence around it....right after the big rain...so I did the slip and slide all over the place trying to get the fence up...hubby was laughing and was attempting to help, but couldn't quit laughing. Anyway, it's up now and the mr critter can't get in. I also got my three new roses from SpringHill, what a great bargin, three hybrid tea roses for the price of 1 1/2 in the local garden centers!!! I am was so excited, that i put them in the ground Friday after work. One is White, Robert Kennedy, a lavender and a new one that's red and yellowish colored stripped. I am very excited to see what they product!! I have added butterfly bush and flowers, and a few others. In the next few weeks, I look forward to the blooming of these plants!! If any of you live close to Cedar Park, Tx, get me a fast note and we can go "Garden Center" hunting...Happy planting....Jacque

annieannie	Jun 18, 2007 \| 2:45 AM PST Digging sounds like you might have an armadillo. Your experience sounds similar to one my son had once. He planted corn and a squirrel chopped down every stalk he had. He was in high school at the time and was just devasted. Actually I think it was an army of squirrels...lol. Were you able to harvest any of your corn? I assume it is ready to be harvested by now. We have been harvesting ours for the past week or so.
Jackteal	Jun 18, 2007 \| 8:09 AM PST I thought of a armadillo, but the "droppings" are really BIG, so I think it is not an armadillo. I have set traps, but to nothing so far. At least it has quite getting into my garden, but I noticed some bird feathers?? Now I am really puzzled?? Anyway, thanks for the note back and BTW, you have some beautiful plants! Jacqueline
annieannie	Jun 18, 2007 \| 9:57 AM PST Thank you. They have taken a beating with all this drought. I try to keep them looking good. We have our place up for sale. Hopefully it will sell before too much longer.
Jackteal	Jun 18, 2007 \| 11:09 AM PST Where are you moving to? My in-laws live in Fla. and moved because of all the bad weather, they are now in OK. Bet it will he hard to leave behind all the yard work!

Jackteal	Jun 20, 2007 \| 7:37 AM PST The best part is, about the move, the gardening here and Fla. is about the same, you won't have to learn a thing, EXCEPT..it get up to 100+ degrees some summers, so plants can burn up. I lost almost all my ivy's last year. You can probably bring some cuttings when you move. If you need cuttings once you move, I can probably help. Let me know..Jacqueline
annieannie	Jun 20, 2007 \| 8:32 AM PST We have our place up for sale. We have so far two people interested but nothing final. I plan on bringing as many plants as I can. Need to check with taking plants across state lines. Some states do not want plants moved from one state to another...go figure. We hope to move real soon but all hinges on us getting the place sold. Thank you for the offer of plants we might even be able to share cuttings.
