I have been gardening since I was about 7 years old. I used to sit with my grandfather while he weeded his garden & he would talk to me about flowers & how to tell what was a weed & then how to pull it up. It made a big impression on me! My grandparents had a big flower garden, lots of cosmos, marigolds, zinnia's & things like that. There was also a very large rose bush with tiny fragrant roses all over it. I don't know what variety it was, but I loved smelling it! Grandmother saved all the seeds & replanted every year.
So---when I was about 8, I asked my mother if I could use a little 2 by 5 foot space by the front steps to plant some things. That was my start & my love for gardening & nature has continued & grown ever since.
