I know you all are my Garden friends:) But I really need some motivation and encouragement with this Weight loss adventure I am on right now. I am on a walking program and I need to loss some weight for my health doctor's orders. It is hard when you have slow down and not as flexible as you were when you were in your 20's and 30's. So with that said I will be on a 1600 calorie diet till I loss at least 60 Pounds. And would really be so thankful if you all would help me on this journey. Thank you all of you:0) Happy Gardening to all of you :)

I'll be "behind" you too! lol I have to lose weight for health reasons and because I am taking some trips and I will need to be able to walk without tiring too fast. I am in my 40's and I know I can do this and I know you can too!! It will be hard but so well worth it. Last edited by txrose on May 14th at 7:10 PM. |

I was diagnosed with diabetes a little over a year ago. I went to the classes and learned enough to know that its all about carbs! Read, and learn which are good and which are not so good ( i refuse to say any are bad!). Cut out the White stuff or do them in moderation. Potatoes, rice, pastas-although whole wheat anything is good. LEARN ABOUT CARBS! It's amazing when you learn to eat to live and not live to eat! |

My son is on Weight Watchers and has lost a lot of weight; I stayed with him and his daughters for about 2 months and lost 20 lbs; I thought I was too old to lose weight, but he only buys fat free milk (yuck!) and fat free everything; he actually eats more, on this diet, and loses weight, because he's watching what he eats. I need to lose weight too and so does my hubby. We are planning to buy a recumbant bike to put in the living room so we will be more apt to sit on it once in awhile instead of the recliner. I am behind you all the way with your walking program. Are you just counting calories or on a specific program (I refuse to say the ''D'' word) |

Man, this is tender territory! I can tell you this - my wife is the loveliest creature I have ever seen. But after 3 team-inflicted miniMe's she had to readjust. You'd have to know her personally, but the basic story is that if anyone - other than me - tells her how to do something then she takes it verbatim. I have never ceased to see the ever so beautiful bride that I married. But, she decided it was time. She went to Weight Watchers and she went to Curves. She just did what they said and NO more. Holy Snufaluffagas! Did it ever work. I would marry her twice and then cheat on her with herself! (Just kidding about the cheating part - but she DOES look that good!) I have been humbled by the task of trying to lose a few extra pounds myself. I do respect the effort it takes and I wish you good luck. No, GREAT luck! ;-) -BT |

I'm going to be 72 this year and I've fought the weight thing all my life. The big thing to remember is that a diet isn't what you don't eat, it's about what you do eat. Get your mind on that. You have a great day and happy gardening. Bill Mitchell |

Everybody's on a diet. Whatever you eat, that's your diet. Some people pay more attention to their diet than others. Thats' the key to living life to its fullest, isn't it: paying attention? A friend of mine went on Weight Watchers two years ago. He's lost sixty pounds. It required a lot of diligence, and a lot of support from his loved ones. He's determined to lose fifty more. Be diligent! Keep walking! You've got a nice area to walk in, don't you? |

Thank you all of you. Its not a diet its a life style and a way of life the rest of my life. I have a wonderful awesome husband that loves me and is with me all the way with this thank god:) I am going to do great with friends like you. I will keep you all posted on how I do. Thanks:) |

I'm cheering you on! I have a friend that has recently lost about 25 lbs. She looks and feels great. As a nurse, I can tell you...you CAN do it, and you will be glad you did! |
