It's been a while since I have been on GG. Here its finally growing season and I have health issues that will keep me in most of this summer. I've been looking at the beutiful flowers in whats blooming and it makes me want to get out there. I have two sliding doors in my den that I call my window to the world so I will probably try to do some container planting just to see flowers. Later

Geez I'm gone for a couple of weeks and everything changed. How do I get to the forums. I'm liked a trained rat change things and I'm lost
I worked in my yard all day. I needed to fertilize and dead head lots of blooms. I walked around and took pictures of all my blooms as they look today. I think I will take more in June & July and see the difference. I have downloaded all my new pics in my May 9, 2009 album.
Finally got my new baby and what a baby he is. I forgot how time consuming they can be. I take him to the garden to do his business and all he wants to do is eat the plants. He is too interested in everything else except what he is there far. Needless to say I have gotten little gardening done in the last two days. I went outside today and put him in his pen and he cried the whole time. Hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew. Hope I'm not too old to train another one. Well he better get used to the garden because he will be spending a lot of time there. Well more later when I get a chance to be on-line.
I had a Teacup Poodle several years ago and lost her and haven't had the heart to replace her. After much thought on this I have decided to give it another try. My new baby will be shipped tomorrow and I can't hardly wait. I will pick him up tomorrow at the Lafayette Airport. Excitement & anticipation. You know I will have to post pictures.
I was sitting in my den this morning and this poor fellow flew into my sliding glass doors. He went down with his head on the ground and his tail feathers in the air. I thought he had killed himself. I don't have any cats but I have about five that roam my gardens. I had just seen two of them in the yard and were afraid that they would get him. I sat around for about an hour until he finally got his wits about him and flew off. I sure hope he is okay. I had been trying to take pictues of the birds but I am old and slow. Pretty sad when you have to get your first picture of a bird because he knocked himself stupid.
I finally managed to get out of nightgown & robe before noon today. When I get up in the morning I usually do my walk about looking over my garden. With coffee in hand I walk to see what has come up since 6:30 last evening. Sit at my table drinking my coffee and realized there are weeds that need to be pulled. Sit back down and see dead blooms that need clipping. Then all of a sudden I realize its 11.00 and I haven't been back to the house. Thank goodness I have a enclosed yard sure wouldn't want to traumatize the neighbors.
Well its been raining the last 2 days. I feel lost because I can't get out to play. Went out on my morinng walk about and saw that everything has grown about 2 inches and so have the weeds aughhh. Isn't it amazing how rain water makes a difference. You can water all you want but it just doesn't even compare. But on the down side the hard rain has knocked off a lot of the blooms. Oh well they will come back bigger and better. It will take a couple of days for the ground to dry up. Well maybe I'll have to go to some of the local nurseries and see if they have anyhing new.

I have never had any luck with Hollyhocks. I tried them again this year and they got up about 2 feet high and then had rust all over them. Didn't want it to spread to other areas so I pulled them up. Have cut them back and put them in a pot in the back hoping they will come back. I think our humity get them.
I keep saying all I need is a few calidiums, My daughter came by and we plant shopping. I always come out with a basket full in the spring. What am I going to do the yearly flower show will be here next weekend and I know I will see beautiful flowers to take home. Oh well who needs a yard to mow
Another hard day of work but its looking good. I have pulled weeds until I'm blue in the face. I think I'll leave the rest for filler plants. lol I have a few plants I've ordered on-line so I have to wait on those. The only blooms left to buy are caladiums. Now lay back and wait for the growing season.
I've been working in my yard for the last three days and it has been wonderful. I am redoing one of my beds and put in many many plants. TELL ME ITS NOT TOO EARLY. I also bought a Red Knock Out Shrub Rose. I went shopping in one of my favorite nurseries today and bought a white Anthurium, it is gorgeous. Well I guess I'll go out and play a while longer. I had to come in for a while and get some rest. Later
I have been hard at work in my back yard cleaning, weeding, making new flower beds and general cleanup. One of my grandsons has been helping me. The other grandson has been working but has lots of freinds that are always dropping by. Everytime one shows up I'm saying grab a pot, grab a bench, how about helping upload that truck. That will teach them to come by an old womens house around spring. lol Today is Mardi Gras so I probably want see them for the next couple of days. I'm feeling about 87 today instead of 67. Oh well another pretty day so I may as well get these old tired bones started. Talk to you later
Got up about 7:15 read my paper and had several cups of coffee. Headed to the yard about 9:00 and have had a very productive day. Got a lot weeds pulled and cut back lots and lots of plants. I have the beginnings of a new bed. Oh darn I'll probably have to go plant shopping. Worked outside until about 3:30 until the rain ran me in. I'm tired but feel so happy
I had gotten such a good start on garden clean up a couple of days ago. Looks like rain for the next 2 or 3 days. Oh well I'll be crying for rain in July
