Getting the Summer 08 started
Mar 3, 2008 | 5:26 PM PST
I was off today for the first time in weeks and I was on my knees all day loving the mother earth and thanking God for all that I have...and all that I DON'T have! Yes it is good to be thankful for those things we do not have! I planted several Boxwood type bushes. I am not a big fan of Boxwoods, but this particular bush reminds me of my childhood with my Step father who I love and miss terribly. He is still alive but his new wife does not like that I am past history...she will feel the full circle. I also planted lots of day lilies today and also Siberian Iris...not sure what they look like but I am excited to see free! I do not spend alot of money but I do have a boldness about me that makes me walk up and knock on doors and ask if they'd like to do a plant swap! I offer to thin their plants in exchange for some of the plants...most of the time they are very agreeable...when they are not I make 'em feel like meanies! I love what we have for beauty and God gave these to us to love, nurture and enjoy...not to mention share! I am ready for a rest, back is whinning just a bit! Oh, I also started some seeds...Canteberry Bells ( I ahve never had any luck with these but I keep trying!) Snapdragons, Cherry tomatoes, Pansies, and a freebie that a fellow gardener sent me. So we will see what happens! I can hardly wait! Deesi
