Love this November weather in south Florida! I wake up before sunrise wishing it would hurry up and get light out so I can get out to the garden! Since I was staring from scratch, to save a bit of money and cover more space in less time, I sowed quite a few different packets of seeds. Most of them came up and now I'm keeping busy thinning, transplanting, watering, weeding and such. I found a wonderful nursery similar to one that I often visited up north. Bought a few perenniels and some annuals, plus some landscaping plants. I set them in their pots around the garden and move the ones I havent yet planted back and forth trying to make up my mind what will be 'just the right spot'. I have my eye on another spot in the back yard that will make a perfect shade garden. Oh my husband is gonna yell. Hey, it's less lawn for him to mow!

When we moved in 3 months ago, I was told about the rainy season. At the time it was so dry that the grass was brown and crunchy and I kept hearing about fires across the state. Then there was one in a nearby town and then one in our town. Shortly after that the rainy season started... and it hasn't stopped! I have read this morning several entries from members in other areas of the country who are desperate for rain. Isn't it interesting how life can be so different in many ways from state to state?! I know our country is big but in my mind as I read blog entries and think about family & friends in different locations, I feel like it's not so big... like we're so close knit and not far from each other. Oh well, those are my goofy deep thoughts for the day!
