Yesterday Frank and I along with Sammy our toy poodle drove to Bethlehem, PA to visit my son who is a packaging engineer for Crayola. I love visiting Bethlehem it's such a sweet American apple pie city I could just stay here forever! The downtown area is just beautiful and the Moravian Book Store along with the Franklin Hill Vineyards are two of my must do stops. Today Jonathan is taking us to Green Acres, I am on a quest to find a head planter of Medusa or David. I would like to plant a corkscrew plant if I find David and a fern if I find Medusa for hair. I think it would make a very cool addition to a little corner of the house that gets a mix of sun and shade. My other quest is for a "Bird Girl" statue, one would recognize it from the movies "in the garden of good and evil" for my shade garden along the side of the garage. Below is a pic of my Sammy, he's a great little dog who loves to hang out the car window with the wind in his face. Have a wonderful weekend! Happy Gardening. Dawn

Love it when you see the pups enjoying the winds during a ride....too cute!
Have a good weekend too! We're getting a whirlwind visit from our Teri, she lives in Port Angeles, WA. Haven't seen her since Christmas!! It will be nice to have both the girls visiting at the same time (Aurora is closer, she lives in San Francisco)!

I'm glad to hear we aren't the only ones that have four legged children :) I can't know how old any of you are but we are the senior generation. We raised our children and they all have goods lives so we don't worry about them. I guess we felt like emptied nesters we have a Pikanise(sp) and a ragdoll cat. My mother just passed away in April and we now have her Japanise Chin. Why do we think when the children are gone we need to get something to take to the vet,get a sitter if we want to go somewhee for the night, forget the vacations. All of our children are spread across the US so we really have to get a sitter. Heaven forbid if we thought about bording them. They might not get pampered. If you know what I mean. If I ever learn how i will share pictures of our four legged kids.:)

My wife and I go to Bethlehem often. They have a great music fest in August and a Celtic Fest in the fall. My favorite stops are the Brew Shop in the small mall as well as The Brewworks. Also a trip would be incomplete without a stop in the Scottish-Irish Shop.
