yardgranny6	Apr 12, 2008 | 12:45 PM PST Hi Collin, I am going to suggest you go down to the Garden Design Forum and post your question there as a start. One big problem is knowing what plants you have there. Once you know what plants you have and get the weeds down or out there are ways to keep them from coming back with such a vengence. I just spent maybe two days cleaning out a neglected bed and it is now ready to be a true thing of beauty. Can you post some pictures so we can see how big and where your flower beds are? Then you might be able to find someone in your area that could help you identify the flowers. Perhaps call your local County Extension Agency, sometimes they will come to your home or they could ask a Master Gardener to come out. It sounds as if you may be in the upper part of NC. Some views from the street to the house, some views from the back of your property toward the house, And some side yard full views and then we would get an idea of what you have to work with. garden98011	Apr 12, 2008 | 10:06 PM PST The good news is your flower beds will improve with some effort and planning...Focus on the planning to keep from being overwhelmed. Check out stacks of gardening books at the library and start deciding what style you like. Often times your house might dictate that already. Make a list of simple goals and all will grow from there...You'll be hooked soon enough!~Andrea
witt	Apr 13, 2008 | 5:35 AM PST You can get a lot of help from these folks! There's a Plant Identification area where they can tell a weed from a plant. Truly helpful. Remember, little by little gets the job done.
