About ChamberlainAcres

I grew up spending time with my grandmother while my parents worked. She had a love of gardening, so it was natural for me to be outside in the the garden with her. My love for gardening grew and grows more each and every year. After many years of factory work I left to help a friend in his remodeling business. With remodeling comes people wanting a change in their yards. This led to doing some landscaping. The more I landscaped the more I hated going to nurseries to buy plants. Don't get me wrong, I love a good nursery, but unfortunetly I haven't found many. So this past year with encouragement from friends and family I have been working towards opening my own nursery in the spring. There is a lot of work a head of me and I am learning more each day about being a nursery, however I am always and will forever be first and foremost a gardener. I love to talk gardening with anyone.

Springs here?

Bleeding Hearts
I placed several orders for bareroot plants and plugs. I knew I would not be able to grow enough from seeds or cuttings this year for the nursery myself. So the first shipment arrived on Feb. 5. I was so excited. I opened the boxes with the bareroot ...

Snowing again
I have been out in the greenhouse today planting herb seeds. I am finding that now that I am growing for more than just myself I try and use the trays with at least 128 little holes. I used to use and still love using when I can, paper dixie cups....

Thanks to all who added a comment. It is nice to get encouragement from other gardeners.    The weather here in Elmira, New York has been crazy the last few days. Yesterday it was one degree when I got up, the day before that it was two. Today ...
