I have been growing Christmas cactus for years, and about 5 years ago another plant just started to grow in the pot with the cactus. It starts blooming in late June & blooms till October. I realy liked the plant but didn't know what it was. This year I went to many garden shops and flower shops, none could tell me wah it was, all sending me to another place. I finally found a place that told me it was a "Nut Orchid".
I then looked it up online and found a good picture of it, it is in my pictures. It has many names , nut orchid being one of them. This plant has came back every year for 5 years and when I devide my cactus, it goes along for the transplant. Because the cactus can't freeze, I protect it in freezing weather, which isn't often, so the nut orchid is protected from freezing also. Most of the info I have on this plant says it had a bulb, which these plants donot have. The plant looks like the picture, but no bulbs, so don't know how it reproduces. Any info anyone has on this plant would be appricated.
