Greetings all!
Hope your weekend is off to a good start ....our heatwave ended Friday...but what a wind storm! Rick checked on the last Crape Myrtle and it was almost horizontal!! Happy to say this morning it was still standing! ...only one of the wooden post broke. We were so relived (^_^)
He is finally back to kayaking after finishing that root removal project....he brought back some wild black berries!! We made some awesome smoothies with them...just the thing for a warm day. He brought back a sprig wanting to know what it was...I thought maybe rose hips from a wild rose....I told him my G.G. pals would know for sure. So below are the berries and sprig....
Sorry...the spring came out too small, but looks better in my 'new camera' album....still figuring out the camera settings, lol

Wild blackberries! I have a patch that makes me wild every time I look at them,I sorta let them take over,accidently on purpose!.But!.. How could one not enjoy picking them,when they are so yummy,blackberry,yohurt ice-ceam is one of my fav's!..XOX |

It does bare resemblance to a rose..the shape of the leaf and the round bulbs..what kind that I do not know..:) |

Thanks Witt! I'm not sure why it came out smaller for me...but glad you did your magic. Yes, I was thinking the same thing, the rounded leaves aren't typical..the bulbs reminded me of the rose-hips on our neighbors rose bush. Ahh, those blackberry smoothies were really good...Rick is going to keep checking when ever he goes out (^_^) Wishing you all well (^_~) |

I think you're right about the rose hips. The foliage looks like it belongs on a rose bush. The blackberries make my mouth water. I wonder why wild berrues have so much more flavour than the cultivated ones. |
