Fall is just around the corner...well at least the calendar says so...already the team flags are waving down our street..so that season is beginning...this isn't where my excitement is...I have buds on my 'football' Mum...I call it my Mariposa Mum...I took a cutting from the yard where my daughter was renting and it was in Mariposa, Ca. She was working at Yosemite National Park...yes, she use to wear the 'hat', but has promoted and works in her field..Environmental Planning
... Anyways, this type of mum was used for corsages for the ladies to wear at college games in the 40's and up to the 50's I believe. I was really happy when (without knowing) the mum's flowers were larger than my fist and they are a lovely lavender color...which is our main color for our garden... here is last year's blooms.. the plant is in a large pot and is over 3' tall...not including the planter. This bloomed in Nov...or late Oct.
