This mornings trip to the garden was VERY exciting for me. My first Gladiolus bloom, my first Double Purple Althea bloom, and a TON of tomatoes ripening. Then, to top that off, my wife says "I want to go to Lowes today" --- I got some GREAT deals on clearance plants, all in pretty good shape, a few annuals and a few perrenials.

Here is the Double Purple Althea bloom. There are a ton of buds ready to pop open on these. I have two Double Purple, and one Double Red.

witt	Jul 27, 2008 \| 1:42 AM PST Oh, that's great. My althea hasn't bloomed yet! It's a double, too. I'm trying to root some in water this year. It appears I have some small roots now. It has taken forever!
