I've had quite the busy day, both in and out of the garden. Tomorrow will be more of the same.
Got Meg registered for kindergarten this morning. Tomorrow morning is her orientation where we get to meet her teacher, she gets to ride on the bus, etc. Should be fun- Logan's was last year. I'm sorta hoping she gets the same teacher Logan had- she was fabulous! Logan has his orientation with his teacher in the evening. Gonna feel like we've been in the school all day LOL!
Decided today where I am going to plant my weeping maple. Started to prepare the site this evening. Good news is the weeds and grass are coming right out easily. Bad news is I think I found where the driveway used to be- it's nothing but gravel! I temporarily planted the tree until I can dig out all the rocks and put new soil in *sigh* Far more work than I was planning on. It should look good there and I have been wanting to put a bed in that spot for years, at least now I have a reason to do it! I hope to get started on that between orientations tomorrow. Now to figure out how much soil to buy...
While talking to a couple of neighbors this evening we decided to split the cost of the 30 yard minimum load of compost from our municiple center. We should each be able to get about 10 yards- more than enough for me to amend my 3 planned new beds, and the unplanned maple one too :)
Until later, Have fun gardening :)
