My "Snowbank" and "Supernova" brugs arrived today WOOOHOOO!!!!!. As Yardgranny said in her blog last week, they were well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. They are now sitting on my front porch recovering from their cross-country travels :) I'll pot them up next week. I decided that I'll bring them in the house this winter, and then plant them in the garden next spring. Every other brug (except 1) that I have bought and planted in the ground at this time of the year never comes back in the spring, so I am going to be extra-special careful with these 2 babies :)
Writing of brugs, my yellow one is blooming now!!!! One bloom, but many more buds are growing. That has been the only brug that comes back every spring- I have about 10 cuttings from it rooting right now. I'll overwinter those in the house too, then most likely give many of them away. I would love to keep all of them, but I would rapidly run out of room LOL! I plan on taking cuttings of my new ones next year as well... Before I know it, my entire garden will be full of brugs :) Not such a bad thing really...
It is HOT today! 96, heat index 109!!! I am staying inside until later! We got a pretty bad storm last evening, and I have a feeling we'll be getting some more tonight (forecast to get them anyway) I really hope so.
So far none of the latest storms have done any damage to my gardens. The clematis is recovering nicely from having it's trellis knocked down last month- lots new growth. Maybe it will even bloom! Considering they were in 2-4 inch pots when I bought them, I would be really surprised if they did :)
My passion flower vine is growing like crazy. Has 3 new flower buds on it. I think it liked being watered with diluted coffee the other day :)
Well, better go.
Have fun gardening :)
