As I write this, we are finally getting some very much needed rain YAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!! For once I won't have to water tonight. My plants are just so happy :)
Yesterday the smoke held off until late evening. Despite the 101 degree temp I did get some gardening done. I tied some fishing line onto the clematis trellis so they would have an easier time climbing. I did a little bit of weeding, but with the dry soil they were practically impossible to pull.
Then I did more beetle hunting while the kids and one of their friends swam in the pool. I should have gone in the pool with them LOL!
I have some strange rash all over me. Steve thinks it might be poison ivy, probably a bunch has been burning in those fires, and the oils are blowing here in the smoke. It doesn't really feel like poison ivy though...
Well, I better get going- the power has really started to blink with all the close lightening strikes.

Don't ya just love to see the rain come in?!I can't believe that you were outside doing ANYTHING in 101 degree weather though! |

I hope it's not poison ivy or poison oak. For your future reference, buy some Technu and wash off with it every time you come in from the garden. A little bit goes a long way and it is the bomb against those poisons. You have a great day and happy gardening. Bill Mitchell |

There's no telling what kinds of toxins can blow in and cause a rash. It's a bad thing that it rained. Now you will have no excuses to pull those weeds. Oops. Wrong place. I should be in Game Crazy! |
