After searching this site I have marked many favorites, learned a few things and become infinitely inspired and somewhat intimidated! What incredible imagination and effort was put forth to create stunning, lush, breathtaking gardens. Although a bit hesitant, I posted pictures of my own work in progress. Habitually updating the flowerbed in place when we purchased our home and creating my own shade bed are my most recent endeavors. I would like to extend the current bed restricted by ragged landscape timbers and somehow tie it in with my shaded portion. As far as a border is concerned, I am at a loss. I like the rugged look and have considered small cedar posts but I am unsure how this will effect the cottage theme I am attempting. I have pondered white rock as it is plentiful in our neck of the woods. I also find the bare edge look most pleasing but I am unsure how to attempt it. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed!

Please don't feel intimidated. I like to think gardening is about the joy of the journey, not about the destination. I have to think this way, since I know for me my garden will never be done, but I will enjoy every minute I can of it. |

I have found that planning to much makes gardening a job. Being retired as I am, I don't want a job any more. Just relax and let your natural feeling guide you in your garden creations. You'll be surprised how much beauty will develope on it's own. After all, God created the plants, we are just arraigning them. You have a great day and happy gardening. Bill Mitchell |
