What's the difference between a spider plant and an airplane plant? What I have were always called airplane plants..My largest airplane plant was potted by my Mom in "real dirt".It has grown like a weed and I have repotted it once.I'm afraid to hang it because it is so heavy! It is in the picture with the jade, they are my largest plants.

Isn't that funny! I suppose that happens .Maybe that's why they stick with the Latin names for plants because there are different common names for a lot of them.I think I'll do a search on airplane plants LOL

Im thinking the Airplane Plant has more than one stripe as to the Spider plant comes with one stripe in the center and in solids also some of my spiders have babies when they are babies my Airplanes never do, also Im thinking some spiders just look slightly different (from each other) as far as shiny leaves some plants are dull and gloomy looking and way smaller babies; they sorta look like awhat a male plant would look like if it were a spider *lol (What do I know..*LOL)

2 cents.. Oh I just bought 4 more babies *lol cant wait to play with dirt in my kitchen!

Exactly! We call them "subs" around here..It's kind of like the first time I lived in California (I was 22) I realized they didn't have my familiar brands of milk or bread! I assumed it was "world wide" LOL

OK I'm back again I just read Kale's post and wanted to say that my plants aren't variegated but their babies do have babies. They also have pretty little white blooms. They are without a doubt one of the easiest houseplants I've ever grown. You could divide and multiply them forever.Even easier then philodendrons
