We had an excellent speaker at the garden club meeting this week. He did a presentation on xeriscape plants. Lots of sedums, of course. One I particularly liked was the Angelina sedum. It's supposed to glow an electric yellow. I'd like it for under my crabapple tree, where it gets very dry, to contrast with the deep burgundy berries in the fall. Has anybody grown this variety of sedum? I wonder if the flowers are as bright as they say. Attachments: ![]() |

The garden centre was having their 30% off sale so I bought 3 (smaller) Angelina sedums. Guess no one here has grown one, so I'll let you all know how it does. |

BlueBelle, I love that sedum. I am looking for something interesting to tuck into the crevices of my rock garden...I hope it does well for you and then I will try to find some for myself next year. |

I'm looking forward to seeing how it does under the crabapple. I'm trying to plant more xeriscape plants since the weather seems to be getting drier every year. If it does well, I'll send you some. Sedums are extremely easy to propagate. Just stick a piece in the ground and it roots! |

BlueBelle, I was at a garden centre last week and I saw a type of sedum that looked like little teardrops and it was a lovely blue-grey colour. I didn't pick up any because the darn place was packed with people and I did not want to wait in the huge line-up with 3 kids!! SO I will go back on a weekday...maybe they'll have the "Angelina" as well. If not, I'd love to take you up on your offer!

I don't have any experience with it, but I, too, bought a couple small Angelina's this year, and I love the yellow color. I guess this year it will be an experiment for us all. |
