Some sights say I'm zone 6, some say zone 7 and some say "Zone 6-7" LOL

I'll settle for what I was last year...zone 6b

My area is a confusing array of zones, lots of microclimates LOL
I chose 7b, because some places say I'm zone 7, and others zone 8
I have had a lot of luck growing zone 8 plants.

Blink- that means that you are on the cooler side of the zone 8 average winter lows. At least that's the way I interpret it

Found an EXCELLENT site for looking up your zone.

http://home.ivillage.com/gardening/zonefinder

Wikipedia also has good information..

I'm never 100% sure as to what my zone information is. I think I am about 8a in that map... but I'd love some reassurance. I live around Beaverton, OR.

Edit: that last site I just looked at really helped. Now I'm pretty sure I'm zone 8.

Also check with your extension service at http://extension.oregonstate.edu/washington/

I live in Eugene, which most zone finders put in zone 7, but the people at the Lane Extension Service told me we're in zone 8b.

I'm in the really small area of 8b in the panhandle. Alabama is only 15 to 30 minutes away depending which part I'm going to.
