question for you. I have a bunch of zucchini plants. A few died off, and my neighbor had some extras, so I transplanted them, they are thriving. The plants I started from seed are growing, but in a strange way. I thought it was normal, but now I am thinking it is not. They grew a long stem, and then the "bowl" sort of set down, it is flowering, but only male flowers and has been at least 2-3 weeks now, and when I was trying to pick dead leaves off, I "unrooted" it. I am wondering if this is why I'm not getting any zucchini growing yet, or ever???!!! The plants from my neighbor have just finally started showing 2 little teeny female stems, I'm so excited! I am hoping that they will tell their neighbors to grow too. Should I be doing anything different? I got ticked off tonight and ate a few of the male blossoms. Take that...... zucchini help needed

I can't believe you're having problems growing zucchini, Sarah. It's the time of year here when everyone locks his/her vehicle for fear of returning to find it full of zucchini some neighbour hasn't found a use for. Good luck with the plant you got from your neighbour. Start checking out recipes now. |
