Mt Ruapehu,in the central north island of New Zealand,it is along the desert road, and is flanked by Mt Nagarahoi and Mt Tongariro, all were covered in snow yesterday!..Guess who pulled us up on our travels for speeding. No! I wasn't driving!..14kms over the 100kms speedlimit result 8o$ speeding fine!..I did say slow down, about 2minutes before the cop came over the rise!..Oh well let that be a lesson for the driver!..We also stopped in matamata the home of lord of the rings!..This eagle was cut by chainsaw from a single tree trunk,it has sat here for many years!..Waitangi falls I used to swim here as a child, the water is freezing I'm too chicken to swim there now,but the kids do and they love it they dont seem to feel the cold!..And its handy just down the road!..

There was an article on the evening news within the past few days, Kiwi, about a volcanic eruption in NZ. Not too close to your home, I hope.

Yes your right Myrna there is a vulcano erupting, now there are two Tongariro and the White islands that is the real scary one,it has been brewing away for sometime now,but has decided to throw a bit of a tantrum and has got the locals quite worried,I have two grandchildren that live on the same line as the white island. I am concerned for them!..Tongariro is a little over 3hours away from me,we were warned about the ash etc..But saw very little of it,thank goodness the wind changed direction and spared us any suffering for now!..Thanks for your concern!..Hope all is well with you!..Bless!.
