My morning glories (grandpa ott) seem to only bloom for maybe an hour to two hours of the day AT MOST??!! Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to make them last longer?? I'm not sure what zone I'm in, but I live in Dayton, Ohio & it's been really hot & humid here almost all summer. Ever day it's been at least 85 degrees on the cooler days, and 105 degrees on the hottest days so far. I am guessing I need to water than once a day, maybe that would help?? Please, any tips or advice & info would be so great! Thanks!! -Gloria

I would think with the heat and if not shaded very much in the morning, that is probably normal. Mine do the same thing. When the direct sun hits them mid-morning they're done. |

Morning glories are like that...one fades another takes it place...there are several flowers that only last a day, a morning or just an evening. Your 'glories' are truly lovely...in any direction (^_~) Wishing you well |

Well, I am sorry to say... I am glad someone else is having a short bloom time as my MG. I have 5 different vines growing in various spots in the yard and they are lacking blooms and when they do bloom its a very short time. I was thinking that the problem was the heat wave we've been blessed with..... 2 weeks + with 105 degree temperatures. |

Morning Glories are like Daylilies, one blooms only in the mornings for the most part and the other has blooms that only last a day. So worth having in the garden though. Just planted Grampa Ott this year and they are lovely. |
