When I planted the seeds the packet just said melon and I am wondering what type of melon? I would love it if someone could let me know. It has stayed this sized for about a week and a half now and I am not sure if it will get bigger or if it is ready to harvest lol. I hate making the rookie mistakes I have made but I am learning lol thanks so much.

Agree, most likely some kind of dwarf watermelon like Sugar Baby or one of those. If it is ripe, the surface shine will be gone off it, the stripes will fade out, the little curled tendril closest to the melon should have dried out.

Cool I hope your right lol I love watermellon lol. I will keep ya posted and wait for those signs until I harvest it. We got a lot of rain the last two days so hopefully if it is going to grow more that will help. Once those signs happen and I cut it open I will take a pic and post it lol. Thanks again.

I love watermelon too...but it hates me!! Always gives me an upset tummy after eating a slice...oh well...maybe I'll try it in a smoothie with yogurt.

Your little melon is looking pretty good!

Wishing you well (^_~)

The mystery is over lol the melon is a cantalope!!!!! I was checking to see how hard or soft it was and it fell off the vine lol. It was starting to get that normal cantalope shell look. I cut it open and yep that was what was in it lol.
