Hi, Does anyone know what this plant is? We live in central Texas and it is taking over our backyard lawn! It's pretty with those tiny white flowers but it's choking out the bermuda grass. Thanks for looking at the photos! Daisy Attachments: ![]() ![]() |

Holy cow! You are good! I sent the photo to my favorite gardening store and they replied that they thought it was from the Spiderwort family. I looked at lots of photos but none looked anything like this plant. I saw that you responded to my question and looked online to see what the Virginia Buttonweed looked like. You got it! I feel like baking you a pie or something! lol Thank you!! Daisy |

It's a common weed in Georgia too.

Virginia Buttonweed is one of the worst weeds there is. It will choke out EVERYTHING. Spreads by seeds both above & underground, and by runners. Best controlled in early spring with herbicides containing atrazine. This is a horrible weed! |

We have it here too,it drives me nuts and will choke anything and everything, the only good thing about it is,it will come out in one piece if you can get a good hold on the roots!. Seek and destroy all of it before it gets out of hand!. It is not your friend but we are lol!. Blessings to you!.
