Iris question....

I got some Iris from my Mom's yard last fall. Do you folks know if they will flower this summer ?? The 'blades' are up...and I keep watching and waiting. They're PURPLE of course. He he

They could bloom.....sometimes it takes another year before they set a bloom stalk. Ours are finished blooming here. I just snipped the last spent flower off today. Another reason that it may not bloom is if it is planted too deeply. Iris like to be near the surface. I hope you see a bloom very soon Purple. Birdie

Ours bloom May/April...the leaves are green almost year round...I cut them back in the fall, leave about 5 inches. I only have one set, which came from Rick's grandparent's farm.

I'll be dividing the clumps this fall and put some elsewhere in our little yard.

Keep us posted on yours...look forward to seeing it's flower next spring!

THANX gals ....Yup, looks like next year they'll do their thing. My "Lorelei" Irises are blooming as of the last two days.
