Have been in my current location for about 18 months. The plants pictured here have yet to bloom. Any ideas as to what they are and why they have not flowered? Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The first one looks like amaryllis and I can't get mine to bloom either. |

The others....I'm thinking might be different varieties of lilies ??Be a little more patient, the flowers should be coming soon.Or....have they been at this stage for quite a while ?? Come back with more pics later OK ??i |

They remind me of the Resurrection Lilies...they flower after the leaves die towards the end of the summer. You can see the dead leaves in the second image Attachments: ![]() ![]() |

looks like amaryllis (sp?) to me too. it took about 2 to 3 years (maybe 4) for mine to show off flowers. I started off with one (the kind they sell for christmas in a box). it grew in the house and bloomed. the stem broke but mom-in-law built it a cruch it lasted a long time in the house. I transplanted it in ground when the flower died. Then nothing happened first year (i thought it was gone). 2nd and 3rd year (i think) i saw leaves only (lots of 'em). then there were flowers.

looks alot like agapanthus praecox has large blue or some times white flowers atop long stems, they enjoy open areas and full sun, your pots may be to small, you could also try lifting the bulb just above the soil, the in ground ones look young give them a good water often! Goodluck!. |

The first does look like Amaryliss-bulbs are planted too deep-Mine are starting to bloom now. Only bury about 2/3 to 1/2 of the bulb. Mulch. The others look like Crinums aka Milk & Wine Lillies They will bloom later in the summer. |

Updating...still no flowers! I did replant the ones potted possibly-amaryllis, in the ground, not so deep...so I don't expect them to bloom this year. They look happy though! The others - photos 2, 3, and 5 - look about the same. The plants in photo 4 are starting to yellow, droop. They've had plenty of water. What to do, what to do???? |

Hi there! Nice to hear from you!, was wondering how your getting on. Maybe you could try letting them dry out a bit,not to much but just enough so you can feel moiture just under the surface of the soil,a mulch might be in need?,perhaps lawn clippings if you use them, they could benefit from a feed it wont do them any harm! . Then after all that if they still fail to thrive, then you have done your best, and they are just ungrateful plants by not responding to your tender loving care!.. Best of luck!..Go well always!.

Update on these bulbs: 1. Replanted as advised and while they have still not bloomed they have reproduced! they look good and I'm hoping for blooms next year! 2. These have also not bloomed, but they were transplanted this year, so maybe next year? 3. The plant in photo 3 was the first to bloom. It is a white flower with red running through. (See photo 1) 4. This one has just recently bloomed - after two weeks of LOTS of rain...so now I know they need more water than I was providing! Similar to the above except in color. (see photo 2) 5. These are my favorites! They are beautiful white flowers with a wonderful fragrance! White and very delicate looking, they only last about a day and are too heavy for the stems - must be supported. (see photo 3) What is it?? Attachments: ![]() ![]() ![]() |
